Melton Mowbray’s Annual 40s Festival

Residents at Annual 40s Festival

Last weekend, four residents of The Amwell Care Home attended the Annual 40s Festival which is hosted in our local town of Melton Mowbray.

Each year, members of the community get together to enjoy a weekend of 1940s-themed entertainment. There is a variety of things to see and do such as 40's live music, vintage stalls, re-enactments, vintage cars, delicious food and drink, and much much more.

The free event is a fantastic family day out, and this year the sun shone brightly for our residents and their neighbours. Our residents, in particular, had a splendid day out, where they enjoyed ice-creams, shared laughs and Ken even got to wear a uniform!

Events like these are a great form of reminiscence and provide the perfect opportunity to stimulate our residents, encourage them to learn and interact, and above all enjoy themselves. It is also great for our residents and staff to build relationships with members of our community and we look forward to participating in more local events.

If you would like to find out more about what we get up to at The Amwell then please see our news & events, or if you would like more information on the care services and facilities we provide then we welcome you to get in touch.
