A trip to the Cinema has the power to move and transport you somewhere else entirely. Our movie theatre at The Amwell Care Home has been designed to bring our residents closer together, spend quality time with friends and family, and sit back, relax, and spend time creating memories.

We proudly offer an extensive selection of films for our residents to select. From black and white romantic classics and the old fashioned westerns, through to more contemporary films, we guarantee there is something in our collection that all of our residents and their visitors will enjoy.

Reserved Just For You

Experience has shown us that our Cinema Room is the perfect place for residents to unwind together while immersing themselves into another world for an hour or two. Whether they’re settling in to watch an old favourite or wish to watch something new, The Amwell Care Home Cinema Room has a seat reserved for you.

We invite residents to make themselves as comfortable as possible while watching their favourite films, either viewing alone or with fellow residents. With space to seat between 12 and 15 people, residents are also welcome to hire out our Cinema Room for visits from friends and family, or for a special occasion. Our staff have found that the cinema room is the perfect place to bring everyone closer together, and plays an important role in developing and maintaining a sense of routine.

A-Z of Titles

From classic black and white westerns to contemporary rom-coms, our extensive library of films means there really is something for everyone to be able to enjoy. Whatever our resident’s favourite genre(s) may be, we guarantee we have something that sparks their interest.

Our Activity Coordinators ensure that the selection of films available are regularly updated and added to, so even our most regular cinema room attendees always have something new to enjoy.

Cinema Room FAQs

Our cinema room is crafted to provide residents with an authentic cinema experience right within their home. With a sizable screen and comfy seating, to cinema-style snacks and a wide selection of movie choices, residents can relax here and enjoy their favorite films.

Every resident is encouraged to use our cinema room as part of their monthly fee. Additionally, we extend an invitation to relatives and loved ones to join us in our cinema room. Upon request, we can also arrange private viewings for residents with their friends and family.

We’re pleased to offer a diverse range of film titles and genres. We work closely with residents to identify their favorite movies, ensuring a selection that appeals to everyone. Occasionally, we also showcase special broadcasts like sports events, and we host group cinema sessions that can be a great form of reminiscence therapy.
