Easter at The Amwell

We have had lots of Easter fun this month at The Amwell Care Home in Melton Mowbray, which included a variety of activities and treats for our residents.

In the lead-up to Easter and the bank holiday weekend, our residents participated in many Easter crafts, creating decorations and bunny masks. Our residents always thoroughly enjoy our arts and crafts sessions as they bring the residents closer together and leaves them feeling happy and stimulated.

Throughout the Easter period, we have been running an Easter raffle, which has seen our local community pull together and provide us with donations from independent retailers in our market town.

Donations included meal-for-two vouchers at two local restaurants, foxy lots gift shop stock, massage vouchers from a local business, a gel nail voucher from a local salon, an ice-skating voucher for a family of 4, and loads more!

Residents and their relatives donated also and as a result, we raised £221 for our resident's fund and we are now awaiting suggestions from our residents on how they wish to spend the money.

On Easter Sunday, we took a trip to the church in town and picked up some yummy donuts. We then went back home and enjoyed a traditional roast lamb lunch and a chocolate feast.

To top off the Easter festivities, we welcomed a visit from baby lambs. Our residents were thrilled to have the lambs in the home and very much enjoyed stroking and feeding them.

We have had such a joyful Easter and start to the new season, and we look forward to many more upcoming occasions and opportunities to spend time with the members of our local community.
