Our First Annual Christmas Fair Was a Huge Success!

We were delighted to welcome residents, relatives and members of the local community to our first annual Christmas Fair in December. Around 60 people joined us throughout the day and our home was filled with laughter, conversation and the comforting hum of togetherness that truly captured what makes Christmas so special.

The fair was a wonderful opportunity to open our doors and celebrate alongside our community. Residents enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones, while relatives had the chance to spend meaningful time with their loved ones in a lively and festive setting. We were also very pleased to welcome Santa himself, who brought smiles to faces young and old and added an extra touch of magic to the day.

There was something for everyone to enjoy and we had a wide range of stalls for visitors to visit as the day progressed. Beautiful crochet items, handmade children’s clothing, scented candles and thoughtfully crafted reclaimed-wood décor were our most popular items and visitors were clearing tables within minutes. The aroma of freshly prepared food drifted through the home, with treats such as waffles on a stick and warming jacket potatoes ensured our visitors stayed well nourished throughout the afternoon. As well as our stalls, we held a tombola and raffle, which many people got involved in.

Most importantly, the event helped us raise an incredible £216.11 for Make A Wish UK. Supporting meaningful charities is something we care deeply about, and it was heart-warming to see residents, families and visitors coming together to support a cause that brings hope and joy to children and families who need it most. Knowing that our festive celebrations could make a positive difference beyond our home made the day even more special.

For our residents, the fair offered far more than entertainment. Events like this play an important role in wellbeing, providing opportunities for social connection and reminiscence. Seeing the home filled with festive decorations, friendly faces and community spirit created a genuine sense of belonging and pride for everyone involved.

We would like to thank all those who attended, contributed, volunteered and supported our Christmas Fair. Your kindness and enthusiasm helped make our first event such a success, and we are already looking forward to building on this tradition in years to come.

If you would like to learn more about life at our home, upcoming events, or how we support residents to enjoy a full and meaningful life, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Visits are always welcome, and we would love to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
