Halloween Activities at The Amwell

Residents at The Amwell have had a wonderfully creative time recently prepping for Halloween.

The activities team has placed their focus over the last few weeks on Halloween, a time that for many, comes with many precious memories of times spent with family.

With our care home draped in spooky decorations, residents have also been getting stuck into lots of Halloween activities and crafts. One particular activity that residents enjoyed was pumpkin carving, and it was made even more special with family members who joined in with the fun too.

There have been lots of laughter and conversations shared amongst staff, residents, and loved ones, and it has been a great form of reminiscence for many who used to carve pumpkins, go trick-or-treating, and make Halloween crafts with their children and grandchildren.

As well as Halloween, we make a great effort to incorporate other themes from throughout the year into our activities programme, such as Christmas and Easter, and we collaborate with residents and relatives to understand and include traditions that they have, as this can be really important for reminiscence.

We have lots more exciting activities coming up over the festive period and we look forward to welcoming more family and friends to our home and making more memories.
