Autumn Fete Fundraiser

On Saturday 9 October the team at The Amwell Care Home were delighted to host an Autumn Fete in the grounds of the homes to help raise money for a very poorly little girl who is local to the home through Sunny Days Childrens’ Fund. The young 8-month-old is heartbreakingly on end of life care and we aim to raise £100 to help her parents buy a double sofa bed so that they can stay comfortably with her.    

With the good weather on our side and plenty of local businesses supporting with stalls and a Grand Raffle, the event was a huge success supported by our residents, relatives and the local community and we smashed our £100 target and managed to fund raise a staggering £251.40!

Kathy the Activities Manager commented ‘ the day was an amazing success and I can’t thank everyone enough who came along to support us. We all felt so passionate about helping a local family out who are having to face the worst time of their life with their young daughter and knowing that we have helped to make a real difference is so heart-warming’.

The event was also covered by the radio station 103 The Eye and NEMM.
