A Joyful Morning with Oasis Nursery!
This month, The Amwell Care Home was filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt connections as we welcomed children from Oasis Nursery for a special intergenerational activity. The morning unfolded with residents and children singing beloved classics such as "I Am The Music Man" and "Oranges and Lemons," creating a lively and joyful atmosphere that resonated throughout our home. Following this, they created and painted paper fans to prepare for the Chinese New Year!
Our music and crafts morning brought together two generations to share moments of warmth, wisdom, and enthusiasm. The children’s boundless energy and cheerful spirits lit up the day, while our residents embraced the opportunity to share their own stories and joy.
Music is well-known for its therapeutic benefits, and the morning's singing boosted moods, strengthened social connections, and brought a sense of belonging to our residents. For the children, it was a wonderful opportunity to build empathy, confidence, and respect for their older companions. Their visit was part of an ongoing collaboration with Oasis Nursery, designed to bridge generational gaps and foster a sense of community.
