    Jack is our Home Manager here at The Amwell Care Home in Melton Mowbray and has been a qualified Nurse for 10 years and worked in social care for 6 years. The Amwell is a special place to Jack and has been made to feel very welcome by all that live here, the staff team, and the relatives.

    Abbey has worked at the Amwell for four years. The Amwell has been a huge part of her life and working here has developed and shaped her into the person she is today. Abbey is incredibly proud of the home and what they have and continue to achieve as a team. She is passionate about providing the highest level of person-centred care and support to residents and is driven to ensure they have the best quality of life possible.

Helping visitors to feel welcome and comfortable, showing care and compassion for everyone living and working in the home. Assisting with the recruitment process, wages, training, and development.

    Diane develops good relationships with residents and their loved ones, assessing residents’ social needs and preferences when they first come to the home.

    Organising a weekly activities calendar based on individual preferences. Planning for the annual events calendar and festive occasions. Whilst liaising with care teams to support residents’ wellbeing. Building relationships and communicating well with other departments, to be event-ready and ensure the supplies are ordered for events.

    Diane always seeks feedback after each event from residents and the team to monitor what worked well and that feedback to help create fulfilling activities.

    Sarah has worked in catering for over 20 years, mainly as a Chef and Head Chef, but has also managed pubs and cafes. Sarah spent 15 years as a Head Chef in a local hotel catering for a variety of meal requirements and delivering many Christmas meals, carveries, and wedding receptions. In the last 8 years, Sarah has worked in care home kitchens, and she find this a very rewarding area of catering and loves the diversity and the interaction with residents and their families.

    Mark carries out all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs including (awareness of household electrical), plumbing, joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the home to ensure that the Home is maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient functional order. Carrying out decoration and refurbishment. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive maintenance requests and work carried out records and reporting defects to the home manager and/or appropriate contractor for repair.

    Megan is a competent and dependable member of the housekeeping team who takes the lead on maintaining a clean, sanitised, tidy and pleasant environment for our residents, relatives, and visitors.

    Lisa has recently joined The Amwell as the home’s receptionist and is very excited to be part of everyone’s welcome. Being part of the homes front of house team means she will be able to utilise all her previous experiences and her general love of people. Lisa looks forward to greeting all friends and family, old and new.
